DEAD ACCOUNT

Some people think that being paid to go to school will give us an incentive to attend school. However, doing this will put a strain on the government and the public to supply money. It will also be like a constant bribe and students will lose focus.

The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of students being paid to attend school is whether or not they will remain focused. Paying students will make them feel as though they are achieving more but just because you get an allowance to go to school doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a good outcome. Students will probably not be at school for the right intension and only be there for the money. In the end students will lose focus and reach out for lower goals. Our future should be our decision. We need to work for it without constant bribes.

The public community will also have to pay more tax to support the pay that the students will receive. Given the fact that money for schools is spread as thinly as it is I can image that the extra tax would be fairly high. Some schools are already pushing it to fund basic needs so paying students would simply complicate matters.

Receiving pay for school will probably give you extra time to learn and study school material as part time jobs will not be as necessary. However part time jobs are an important factor of adolescence. It teaches you customer services and handling food (if you work in the food industry). They give you far more experience for the real world, and will help you land a job in later life.

Given that it would be a strain on the government and give bad outcomes I think being paid to attend school is a pointless, unnecessary thing to do.
